Meet the Brothers
Frank Brothers Guitar Co. was started in 2014 by three brothers; Nick, Jon, and Tim (left to right in both photos). As twin brothers, Tim and Nick are constantly motivated to exceed each others expectations. They are responsible for the quality and performance of all our guitars. They have been repairing and building guitars since they were teenagers and are the creative force behind Frank Brothers. Jon helps with the business and keeps the peace between the twins as a good older brother does.
Together, with a growing team, we deliver exceptional instruments to musicians around the world from our dowtown Toronto workshop.
Building on a family legacy of excellence in music.
Our grandfather, Philip Frank, was a critically acclaimed violinist. He taught us the importance of quality instruments and recorded with the “Duke of Windsor” Stradivarius.
From child prodigy to concertmaster and first violin with the NBC Symphony Orchestra, Philip Frank was recognized as a virtuoso. His brother, Bernard, was a pianist and they often accompanied each other for recordings and performances.
Our father, Jim Frank, was an award winning recording engineer. He taught us the importance of high fidelity and innovation having been at the forefront of audio engineering.
Among many accomplishments, Jim Frank has a Gemini Award, a Golden Reel Award and a Double Platinum Record. He has worked with artists such as Alice Cooper, Peter Gabriel, Bob Seger, and The Guess Who.
